Avon by the Sea NJ Boardwalk in the early AM

I never tire of the beach and boardwalk early in the A.M. The beach is pristine, the sand being freshly raked. The A.M. boardwalk "group" is so diverse; joggers, walkers, bikers, & mothers with baby strollers.

Avon pavilion is right here too. You can smell the

fresh coffee, bacon, and porkroll. I always peek at what the diners are eating...it looks so good.

Maybe tomorrow I'll join the breakfast group!

Avon Boardwalk Days

Another gorgeous day here in Avon-by-the-Sea.

Early this morning there was a cool breeze- even needed a light jacket.

The beach is beautiful after a storm, the sand has a different look and feel. It's funny, you see the same people down there each day- walking, biking, jogging, pushing baby strollers, etc. The skateboarders are usually on the sidewalk. At this hour the sunbathers have not yet arrived.

Avon-by-the-Sea, Beach NJ at 7:30 A.M.

I was walking on the boardwalk yesterday morning at 7:30 A.M. I had my camera with me so I snapped this pic. This is the Inlet on Washington Ave and Ocean. This boat was just heading under the bridge.

Many families prefer this beach as it has a small lagoon due to the L shaped jetty and there are less wave- great for the toddler set.

The beach is gorgeous, so peaceful and quiet at that time of the day. the pier in the background is the Belmar Fishing Pier.

A Day in Bradley Beach

I feel so lucky that I live here all year. Almost every morning I take a walk on the boardwalk. Its gorgeous down there so early- nice and quiet too, I love these fountains, especially when they are on and the water is spraying.
Most of our summer visitors havent arrived yet so there is still some good parking.
The ocean is so green and clean. I couldnt believe how warm the water is this early- and so green and clear. Ya gotta love it !

Fish Tales at the Shore

I'm glad we got a pic of this big ole' fish as we ate him for dinner last nite. This Striped Bass beauty weighed 29.8 lbs and 40 inches in length! He was caught off the jetty in Deal, NJ.

The fisherman is my brother David. He had been chasing striped bass off the jetties here for awhile now. To quote him, he said" I would have jumped in the water with a snorkel and wrestled him out of the water if I had to !"
